I've been in the finance industry for the most part of my career building distributed financial stochastic models and line of business applications.




Built solutions for managing insurance products, calculate investment guarantee reserve (IGR), measure and allocate capital and funding across the Old Mutual Group, and enable businesses to manage investments and deliver financial and capital reporting, from an IGR perspective.
As a software developer in the central IT team, I built tools for departments such as Finance and Forensics. I was part of the Reinsurance delivery team. We built and maintained the Reinsurance platform. The reinsurance team use the platform to manage the organization's reinsurance.
I worked with nine other graduates. I led technical decision-making sessions and participated in client engagement sessions. We digitized cash-cow, an accounting board game. We build a network dependency detection tool and lastly we build an IT infrastructure dashboard. It shows the environment health state.
Growing up in a remote rural area, I was fascinated by WAP 2.0 and the Pentium 4's of that time. When it was time to enroll in university, I am glad that my fascination with technology was still present, as it helped me make one of the most crucial decisions of my life.
I learned new methods of working from the program, which I suppose can be referred to as modern ways of working 🤷🏿♂️. The focus was on how I can improve my skills by utilizing the right environment, tools, and processes. The program covered key concepts such as CI/CD and DevOps.
